Mr. Modi you are a declared Prime Ministerial candidate of the main opposition party. There have been misgivings upon your candidature in your party as well as outside of your party. In your party these have been put to rest. Outside of your party clamour is still going on but you have been gaining momentum. Your rallies are proving to be successful. People are coming in large numbers.They are responding to you. People want a person with conviction who has guts to execute what he believes in ,is good for the nation.They want a performer and due to your track record they are looking towards you. But still you are portrayed by many as authoritative and communal. You have been quoted by your detractors as responsible for Gujarat Riots of 2002.
Gulam Ahmad Vastanvi was the first prominent Muslim who said that Muslims should move on alongwith the time and adopt an approach of forget and forgive towards you. But he had to pay for it and it is said that supporters of Maulana Saiyad Mahmood Madani were responsible for his removal. However lately Maulana Mahmood Madani has said that parties calling themselves secular should ask for Muslim votes on the basis of their performance and not by making them apprehensive of Modi. He has even given a statement that more number of riots have taken place in U.P & Rajasthan than in Gujarat during last ten years. Maulana Saiyad Mahmood Madani & Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangimahali both have criticized Rahul for his statement regarding Muslim youth being contacted by ISI after Mujaffarnagar riots. Maulana Madani even accepts your track record on development in Gujarat. Maulana Kalbe Sadiq has gone one step ahead and said that he would even vote for you if you own your mistake and assure that you have changed. Maulana Firangimahali has said that the question is have you really changed. Except of a sense of insecurity Muslims are largely facing same problems which other Indians face. They require security, control on inflation, electricity,roads,water ,education & employment. Their interests are no different from interests of other Indians. They also wish like other Indians that whosoever occupies the Raisina Hill in the next election should address the problems before them and all other Indians.
So you should take the bull from the horns and address the misgivings of Muslims about you directly. Yesterday you even batted for Muslim youths in Jhansi when you said that Rahul should apologize for aspersions cast on the patriotism of Muslim youth when he told that they have been contacted by ISI. If you explain your position regarding the Gujarat riots in clear terms;may be there were a few wrong decisions,may be there was lack of experience,may be initially riots couldn't be controlled; it would go a long way in mitigating apprehension of Muslims and assuring them. For sure they are not going to vote for you in large numbers but after all you aspire to be Prime Minister of all the Indians including Muslims.
